The original elements for (119951) 2002 KX14 were reasonably accurate (5 oppositions from 2001 to 2006), so the prediction of a pair of potential recent images from 1984 and 1993 was quite robust. Both images were found on the respective plates.
The following astrometry was submitted to the Minor Planet Center:
B9951 1984 05 31.44816 13 48 13.74 -11 34 59.7 260 B9951 1993 04 02.69493 14 42 31.81 -16 09 18.5 260At the end of this page are the elements and residuals before and with the new data. The new orbit is more accurate because the object has now been observed for 22 years instead of five years.
