This scattered-disk object (provisional designation: 2007 OR10) had been observed at only four oppositions, so the identification of two images from DSS in 1985 and 1991 was significant. The 1985 plate from the European Southern Observatory, La Silla, has an unusually long exposure of 120 minutes, and the object's motion can be seen during this interval; the length of the trail is 3.5" in position angle 255o (to the right and slightly down).

The new orbit is much more accurate because the object has now been observed for 23 years instead of seven years. It was numbered on 2009-11-02 and later named.
